Fishing Report – 22 February 2024

Beaches

Narrabeen to South Narrabeen and Collaroy are all fishing well with some big surf bream and jewfish up to 10kg being taken during the week.

The whiting are still around in good numbers with the afternoons proving the best time. Beach worms are a must.

Our premium whiting rigs are proving successful on both the whiting and the bream.

Bream like our whiting rigs too

Narrabeen Lake

The lake entrance is open again following the rain this week. The fresh has stirred up the flathead, bream and whiting around the Ocean St bridge.

Plenty of bream are being taken along the banks adjacent Wakehurst Parkway. Best baits are our Hawkesbury prawns or beach worms.

Offshore

The dolphin fish have arrived in big numbers at the FADs off Broken Bay. They are also on most wide marks off Long Reef, the bait station, and 12 mile reef. All fish are taking livies, pilchards, or small stick baits.

Snapper have been taken at Long Reef and Boltons reef and we have heard of a few good jewfish coming from Trawleys and Dee Why wreck.

Pittwater

Big schools of bonito have moved into Pittwater and being taken on small metal lures and Christmas tree lures.

There are still some good bream coming from Browns Bay, Taylors Point Wharf and around Rowlands Reserve. Use plenty of berley to get them on the bite.

One NBT regular scored some quality snapper to 55cm  in Pittwater this week but he was a bit secretive about where he got them.
