LIVE BAIT

We  have live bait available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (if not sold out prior).

Live yabbies and live tube worms – both excellent baits for the beach and lake.

Beaches

There are some excellent gutters and holes at North Narrabeen at the moment and they are fishing well for bream and whiting on beach worms or peeled prawns. There are also a few salmon around taking beach worm baits.

Some whiting are showing up at Collaroy and South Narrabeen on live nippers and beach worms. Dee Why to Long Reef is also fishing well this week for bream.

There are heaps of blue bottle on the beach during the week but hopefully these won’t hang around.

We have just restocked our beach rod holders both PVC and metal. Keep your reels out of the sand for extended life.

Rocks

Not many reports this week due to the conditions however one of our customers has been catching Salmon are in good numbers off Curl Curl.

Narrabeen Lake

The lake is currently fishing really well with flathead and bream in good numbers around the Ocean St Bridge area. There are also some good flounder in the lake. Prawns have been the number one bait along with soft plastics.

Further up the lake, there have been some excellent catches of quality bream around Jamieson Park using live nippers, live worms, and prawns.

Offshore

Some good snapper (2-3kg) were caught on the close in reefs – Boltons Reggies, and Long Reef. Fresh squid is the number one bait and plenty of berley is needed to get the bite happening.

Kingfish have been showing up in good numbers at Newport Reef with some quality fish taken during the week.

Flathead can be targeted on the drift off Palm Beach with good catches during the week. Half pilchards and cut fish strips are working at present.

Pittwater

Large schools of Salmon are still around Barrenjoey Headland, Lion Island, and West Head. These can be caught using small metal lures (3-10g) cranked back to the boat. They have also been taken on whitebait.

Some big kingfish are around the Clareville wreck and Stokes Point. Green-eyed squid or strips of Hawkesbury squid are by far the ultimate baits if you want to tangle with these bad boys.
